Background

In Spring 2010, at the age of 28, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). My husband was also diagnosed at the same time with male fertility issues.

In the Summer of 2010 we surprised ourselves by conceiving naturally but then had to undergo the pain of a Chemical Pregnancy. We had been trying to conceive (TTC) since summer 2009 and were advised at this point that there was little chance of us naturally conceiving a healthy pregnancy. From here we opted to begin fertility treatment. I was put on Metformin to manage my PCOS and in Winter 2010/11 we underwent our first ICSI cycle. This resulted in 4 embryoes, 1 which was tranferred and 3 which were frozen for the future. Unfortunately the transferred embryo failed to result in pregnancy.

In Spring 2011 we began preparations for transfer of one of the frozen embroyoes (FET) however this was cancelled after my body failed to respond to the necessary hormones.

In Summer 2011 we begun preparations for FET again. Our initial ultrasound amazingly showed us to be 6 weeks pregnant completely naturally and our little miracle arrived 5 weeks early in February 2012.

I am now the Mummy of a second naturally conceived little bundle who arrived December 2013.
